Lucas Nutt hit a free throw with 3.3 seconds remaining Thursday night to give Southeast Missouri State a 77-76 victory over Sacramento State.

The Redhawks (5-7) escaped with the victory after Sacramento State (5-6) rallied from a 76-69 deficit in the final 3 minutes. Dylan Garrity hit 5 of 6 free throws during that stretch before John Dickson hit a hook shot with 38 seconds left to tie it at 76.

Southeast Missouri called timeout and worked for a final shot when Nutt drove the lane and was fouled by Dickson. Nutt hit the first free throw and intentionally missed the second.

Marland Smith had 21 points for the Redhawks, who snapped a nine-game road losing streak dating back to last season. Tyler Stone added 16 points, Nick Niemczyk 15 and Michael Porter 13.
