Brandon Fortenberry scored 16 points to lead four players in double figures as Southeastern Louisiana pulled away from Blue Mountain College 69-50 on Monday night.

Daron Populist and Quin Cooper scored 12 points each for the Lions (3-1), while freshman Donovan Ross added 10 and Roosevelt Johnson had nine points and 11 rebounds.

Blue Mountain, an NAIA school that counted the game as an exhibition, scored the game's first five points. But Southeastern Louisiana answered with a 9-0 run as Populist, who finished 4 of 8 behind the 3-point line, drained three consecutive 3-pointers to give the Lions the lead for good.

The Toppers closed to within 18-13 on a three-point play by Tyler Shaver, but the Lions pushed their lead back into double digits and led 31-21 at halftime.
