Santa Clara whips Pacific 70-50

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) Brandon Clark scored 17 points and Jared Brownridge added 16 as Santa Clara rolled to a 70-50 win over Pacific on Thursday.

The Broncos (12-16, 5-10 West Coast Conference) opened a 29-19 lead at the half while Pacific (14-12, 5-10) was shooting 25 percent. Santa Clara ended up making 8 of 27 3-pointers while Pacific was just 1 of 9. Pacific ended up at 32 percent for the game.

Tony Gill had 10 points for the Tigers.

Santa Clara went on a 10-0 run with five different players scoring to take a 27-16 lead late in the first half. They settled for a 29-19 lead at the break.

The lead was still 10 when Yannick Atanga and Clark combined for 11 straight points. Atanga started it with a three-point play, Clark followed with six straight free throws and Yannick finished with two more. The Tigers never got closer than 13.
