San Francisco runs away from SC State 91-52

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) Kruize Pinkins scored 16, Mark Tollefsen and Tim Derksen added 14 apiece, and San Francisco opened its season with 91-52 win over South Carolina State on Sunday night.

Tollefsen's dunk with 8:44 left in the second half gave San Francisco a 70-31 lead and the Dons played even with SC State (0-2) the rest of the way.

USF shot 12 of 25 (48 percent) from 3-point range and 36 of 62 (58.1 percent) overall. Tollefsen was 6 of 11 from the field and Pinkins 7 of 9. Derkson shot 6 of 8 from the field with seven boards, four assists and three steals.

The Dons opened on a 24-6 run and led 45-18 at halftime.

Karon Wright scored 13 points to lead the Bulldogs who shot 18 of 62 (29 percent) from the field.
