Samford 55, E. Michigan 51

Gregg Wooten scored 13 points as Samford again overcame a double-digit deficit to win, defeating Eastern Michigan 55-51 Friday.
The Bulldogs (9-5) trailed by 10 early in the second half before pulling even on a 14-4 run. It's the fifth time this season that Samford has overcome a deficit of at least 10 points to win.
Free-throw shooting proved key. The Bulldogs made 12 of 13 attempts in the second half. Eastern Michigan was 3 for 3 from the line the whole game.
Jeffrey Merritt and Josh Davis each added 11 points for the Bulldogs.
The Eagles (2-10) got 19 points from Brandon Bowdry, but couldn't overcome 21 turnovers, which led to 26 Samford points.
The Eagles led 49-47 with 1:40 left, when Samford's Josh Davis stole the ball from Antonio Green and converted a layup to tie it. Free throws by Merritt and Josh Bedwell put the Bulldogs ahead to stay.
