Aston Mitchell scored 16 points and Drae Murray added 15 as Sam Houston State extended its winning streak to three games with an 87-55 victory over Mid-America Christian on Monday night. Gilberto Clavell pulled down 12 rebounds and Preston Brown (11 points) grabbed 11 as the Bearkats (5-2) outrebounded the Evangels 55-27 and outscored them in the paint 32-18. Charlie Shorter led Mid-America Christian (4-3) with 12 points. Sam Houston State never trailed, led 49-29 halftime and increased its lead to as many as 39 points, 83-44 with 5:39 to play.
