Gilberto Clavell scored 22 points, including six free throws in the final 46 seconds, to lead Sam Houston State to a 67-60 victory over Lamar on Saturday night.
Drae Murray scored 13 points and Josten Crow added nine for the Bearkats (15-12, 8-6 Southland Conference).
Anthony Miles led Lamar (12-16, 6-8) with 14 points, and Donley Minor had 11.
In a game that had nine ties and 11 lead changes, Crow hit a jumper with 9:41 to play to put Sam Houston State up for good, 41-40, and ignite a 10-0 run. Marcus James had all six of his points during the spree, on two layups and a dunk.

The Bearkats won the rebounding battle 41-27 and outscored Lamar 38-20 in the paint.
The Cardinals shot just 37 percent (20 of 54) from the floor.
