Sam Houston slips by South Dakota 93-85 in 3OTs

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) DeMarcus Gatlin scored five points in the third overtime to lift Sam Houston State to a 93-85 victory over South Dakota at the Coaches Versus Cancer Tournament on Friday night.
Gatlin, who finished with 18 points, nailed a 3-point jumper with two seconds remaining in the first overtime to tie the game at 74 and send it into a second overtime.
Tyler Larson scored South Dakota's last six points of regulation, and made a three-point play with 9 seconds remaining to tie the game at 65. Larson finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds. The Bearkats had a 64-59 lead with 54 seconds left in regulation but they could not stop Larson.
Marcus Burwell had 14 points and Jamal Williams added 13 for Sam Houston State (2-1).
Brandon Bos scored 21 points and Tre Burnette had 13 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Coyotes (0-3).
