Steven Holt tied a career-high with 21 points and added seven rebounds, five assists and five steals as Saint Mary's beat Portland 69-61 Saturday night.

Rob Jones added 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Gaels (17-2, 6-0 West Coast), who have won seven straight and were coming off an 83-62 rout of No. 21 Gonzaga on Thursday. It was Jones' 14th double-double of the season.

Thomas van der Mars had 18 points and Ryan Nichols 16 for Portland (5-13, 2-3).

Saint Mary's led 30-25 at halftime and used a 17-5 run to go up 47-30 with 14:24 left in the game. Portland pulled within 55-46 with 8:21 remaining, but the Gaels scored five of the next seven points to push the lead back to double digits. The Pilots scored five points in the final moments to cut the final margin back to single digits.
