Sacramento State holds off Montana State 74-71

Alpha N'Diaye and Sultan Toles-Bey each scored 18 points and Sacramento State defeated Montana State 74-71 Sunday.

John Dickson added 13 points for the Hornets (7-17, 4-9 Big Sky), who shot 77.8 percent (14 of 18) in the second half.

Bobby Howard scored a career-high 28 points and added 11 rebounds for the Bobcats (11-14, 5-8), who have lost seven in a row, their longest losing streak since dropping eight straight to end the 1999-2000 season. Erik Rush had 20 points.

Despite shooting only 34.8 percent, Montana State stayed close by collecting 19 offensive rebounds and scoring 24 points off Sacramento State's 19 turnovers, while committing just seven turnovers.

The Hornets led 27-25 at halftime and extended their advantage to 15 with 13:46 remaining, then held on to end a six-game losing streak against the Bobcats.
