Ryan Brimley's 3-pointer with 3 seconds remaining lifted Southern Utah past Houston Baptist 64-61 in the seventh-place game of the Great Alaska Shootout Saturday.
Matt Massey connected on 10 of 16 shots to lead the Thunderbirds (2-4) with 20 points. Brimley's game-winning 3-pointer was his only score of the game.
Andrew Gonzalez scored 18 points to pace the Huskies (0-6), who battled back from a 14-point deficit early in the second half to tie it at 61 on a Jonathan Evans free throw with 27 seconds left.
