Louie Krogman tied the school record with 10 3-pointers and scored a career-high 37 points to pace South Dakota over Houston Baptist 96-87 on Saturday night.
Krogman sank 10 of 14 from 3-point range, matching the record set by Jake Thomas last weekend against Chicago State.
Thomas scored 14, Steve Tecker 12 and Charlie Westbrook and Kendall Cutler 11 apiece for the Coyotes (16-14, 7-5 Great West), the fourth seed in the conference tournament.
Andrew Gonzalez made all 15 free throws and scored 26 points to lead the Huskies (4-25, 2-10), who dropped their third in a row and sank to the seventh and last seed. Michael Moss added 23, Fred Hinnenkamp 12 and Terry Bembry 11.
Led by Krogman, South Dakota hit 16 of 28 3-pointers (57.1 percent) and made 33 of 66 shots.
Houston Baptist held a 52-32 rebounding edge but shot just 39.7 percent (29 of 73).
