Darnell Porter scored 22 points and Omar Sanders added 16 points and 15 rebounds as South Carolina State defeated Voorhees College 96-50 on Wednesday night.

With the score tied at 14 with 12:48 remaining in the opening half, the Bulldogs (4-4) ended the half on a 38-8 run to enter the break with a 52-22 lead.

South Carolina State shot 21 for 32 from the floor (65.6 percent) in the first half, including 7 of 15 from 3-point range (46.7 percent).

Khalif Toombs scored 14 points and Joe Ikhinmwin added 11 as 12 different players scored for the Bulldogs.

A layup from Brandon Riley with 5:44 left to play gave South Carolina State its largest lead at 91-38.

Antwan Carter scored 13 points to lead the Tigers (5-8), while Sam Dotson and Cyrus Green added 11 points apiece.

Voorhees, an NAIA school, was 16 for 55 from the field (29.1 percent).
