Jeff Jones scored 22 points and Brandon Penn had 20 as Rider defeated Maryland-Baltimore County 73-66 in overtime on Saturday night.

Jonathon Thompson added 11 points for the Broncs (2-10), who snapped a six-game losing streak. However, it was Rider's sixth consecutive win in the series.

Rider led 54-40 with 7:10 to play, but the Retrievers cut the deficit to 60-51 and then scored nine straight to tie it at 60 with 47 seconds remaining in regulation. A jumper by Jones with 13 seconds left gave the Broncs a 62-60 lead before Brian Neller sank two free throws with 5 seconds remaining to force overtime.

With the game tied 64-64, Rider made a 5-0 run to lead 69-64 with 1:21 to play, then hit four free throws down the stretch to seal it.

Chase Plummer had 22 points and 11 rebounds, and Neller added 19 points for the Retrievers (1-9).
