Delroy James had his third double-double of the season with 25 points and 10 rebounds as Rhode Island rallied to defeat Northeastern 79-67 on Wednesday night.

The Huskies (2-5), who have lost five in a row, led by as many as nine points in the first half while shooting 57.7 percent from the field (15 of 26).

The Rams (6-3) shot 43.3 percent (13 of 30) to pull ahead 40-38 at halftime.

In the second half, Rhode Island held Northeastern to 31.8 percent shooting (7 of 22), with Huskies leading scorer Chaisson Allen scoring only five of his 17 points and going 0 for 5 from the floor after the break.

Marquis Jones added 15 points for the Rams and Nikola Malesevic, in his first start, had 13.

Kauri Black had 13 points for Northeastern while Jonathan Lee added 11 and Ryan Pierson and Joel Smith scored 10 apiece.

Rhode Island took a 35-28 rebounding edge.
