Report: SDSU's Polee awaiting clearance to play after collapsing on court

Just days after collapsing on the court in a game vs. UC Riverside, San Diego State senior forward Dwayne Polee II watched the team's Friday practice from the sidelines, awaiting clearance to participate in practices and games, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.
Aztecs head coach Steve Fisher said Polee will not play in either of the team's next two games -- Saturday night vs. San Diego Christian or Wednesday night vs. Air Force -- and could be out weeks until a determination can be made on his status.
"I'm sure that it is (frustrating)," Fisher said, per the newspaper report, "but he's smart enough to know he has to be patient and wait until he gets clearance from the experts."
Polee left Monday's game on a gurney and was taken to a local hospital but released a day later.
"We're all ecstatic that DP is able to be here and watch practice and be in the condition that he's in right now," Fisher told the San Diego Union-Tribune. "I think it's still pretty liquid and free flowing in terms of where we go from here. He's discharged and he's got some other steps he's got to go through, and we'll just see what happens.
"I'm not even worried about the basketball part yet. We're so thankful that he's able to be here with us. He's under great care and we'll be very cautious on each of the steps ... I don't think there is a timetable, but I would say more on the longer end."
