Tommy Spagnolo had 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead six Radford players in double figures as the Highlanders held off Methodist 83-74 on Sunday.

Jeremy Robinson had 13 points for Radford (2-0), including five straight in a 16-second stretch after the Monarchs closed to 70-68 with 3:02 to go. Division III Methodist, which counted the game as an exhibition, got no closer than five the rest of the way.

The teams shot nearly the same percentage from the field, but the difference was at the free throw line. The Highlanders, who led 35-29 at halftime, made 30 of 48 foul shots - 18 of 31 in the second half - while the Monarchs, who committed 29 fouls, were 7 of 17 from the line.

Evan Faulkner added 12 points, Gorkem Sonmez 11 and Johnathan Edwards and Jareal Smith 10 each for Radford.

Kyle Combs had 16 points for Methodist and Tanner Carnes had 15 points and 12 rebounds.
