Justin Rutty scored 12 points and Quinnipiac used a fast start, balanced scoring and a dominant inside game to defeat St. Francis (Pa.) 75-55 on Saturday.

The Bobcats (14-7, 6-4 Northeast Conference) jumped out to a 22-0 lead and led 35-16 at halftime en route to snapping a five-game Red Flash winning streak.

Quinnipiac outrebounded St. Francis 37-22 and outscored the Red Flash 46-14 in the paint.

St. Francis (7-14, 5-5) shot only 26.3 percent from the field in the first half (5 of 19), improving to 60 percent (12 of 20) in the second - still worse than Quinnipiac's 61.5 percent (16 of 26) after the break.

James Johnson and Deontay Twyman added 11 points each for the Bobcats, Jamee Jackson had 10 and Dave Johnson had 10 assists.

Scott Eatherton led St. Francis with 11 points. Leading scorer Umar Shannon was held to three points, 12.2 off his average.
