Quinnipiac 55, Sacred Heart 48

James Johnson scored 12 points, including back-to-back 3-pointers during Quinnipiac's closing 7-0 run in a 55-48 win over Sacred Heart on Monday night.
The Bobcats (17-8, 9-5 Northeast Conference), who trailed just once, 43-42, with 6:39 remaining, broke a 48-48 tie sparked by Johnson's 3s.
Johnson hit the first of the set with 1:47 to go, followed with the second 58 seconds later and Dave Johnson made a steal and a free throw for the final margin.
Quinnipiac scored 21 points off 24 turnovers, while giving it away just 12 times.
Justin Rutty added 13 points for the Bobcats and Lance Brown chipped in 12.
Trailing 21-19 at halftime, the Pioneers (9-16, 4-10) shot 57.9 percent from the field in the second half (11 of 19). However, it wasn't enough as the Bobcats went 7 of 12 from 3-point range.
Louis Montes had 12 points and 14 rebounds for the Pioneers.
