Ryne Smith scored 12 points as Purdue defeated Western Michigan 80-37 on Wednesday night in the final game of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off for both teams.
Robbie Hummel had 11 points and three blocks, and Jacob Lawson added 10 points for the Boilermakers (5-1), who bounced back from a loss against Alabama on Sunday to post their 20th straight home victory.
Mike Douglas had eight points and five rebounds to lead the Broncos (0-5).
The Boilermakers went on a 15-0 run to start the second half, taking a 48-22 lead before Western Michigan scored on free throws. The Broncos missed seven shots from the floor and turned the ball over three times during Purdue's surge.
