Prairie View A&M gets by Jackson State 53-50

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (AP) John Brisco scored 20 points as Prairie View A&M rallied in the second half to edge Jackson State 53-50 on Saturday.

Brisco hit a 3-pointer with 57 seconds to play to put Prairie View (8-15, 6-5 Southwestern Athletic Conference) up 51-49 and the Panthers held on down the stretch.

Each team went 1 of 2 at the line after Brisco's basket, leaving the Panthers up 52-50. Jackson State (8-16, 4-8) grabbed the rebound off Montrael Scott's missed free throw with 14 seconds left, but Julysses Nobles' 3-point attempt missed with 4 seconds left and Scott added a late free throw to preserve the win.

Prairie View trailed 28-21 at halftime but outscored the Tigers 32-22 after the break, led by 12 second-half points from Brisco.

Scott added 11 points and nine rebounds.

Derell Taylor led Jackson State with 14 points. Treshawn Bolden added 10 points and 12 rebounds.
