Nemanja Mitrovic scored 13 points and Portland pulled away in the final minutes to defeat Georgia State 66-61 Sunday at the World Vision Classic.
Rashaad Richardson made a 3-pointer to pull Georgia State within 57-55 with 3:16 left, but the Pilots (2-0) answered with a 7-0 run to regain control down the stretch.
Brandon McGee had 14 points for Georgia State (0-2), which led only once in the game - 50-49 after Tony Kimbro Jr. made a free throw with 6:54 left in the second half. The Panthers shot just 29.4 percent in the opening half.
Tim Douglas had 12 points and Ryan Nicholas added 10 for Portland.

The Pilots controlled the first half, leading by as many as 13 after Mitrovic hit a 3-pointer with 3:36 remaining to cap a 17-5 run.
