Poole, Siena hold off Rider for 79-72 win

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) Rob Poole scored a season-high 27, and Marquis Wright added 17 with six assists on Monday night to lead Siena past Rider 79-72.
Poole made 8 of 13 field goals and 8 of 11 free throws.
Jimmie Taylor's 3-pointer with 11:17 left pulled Rider (14-9, 8-4 Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference) within two, but Poole answered with a 3 on the other end and the Broncs were held without a field goal for nearly five minutes as Siena used a 13-4 run to make it 65-54 with 5:43 remaining.
Another 3 by Taylor made cut Rider's deficit to five with 2:24 to play, but Poole made 4 of 6 free throws and Wright converted a three-point play down the stretch to seal it.
Taylor finished with 15 points and nine rebounds for Rider, which had its seven-game road winning streak snapped. Matt Lopez added 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Siena committed just five turnovers.
