Opposing fans give Colorado State's Emmanuel Omogbo a standing ovation

Colorado State forward Emmanuel Omogbo rejoined the team earlier this week, and when he checked into Wednesday night's game at San Jose State, he was greeted with a standing ovation from the opposing fans.

Eight days earlier, Omogbo had lost both of his parents and his sister's 2-year-old twins in a house fire in suburban Maryland.

Omogbo, who had started the first 18 games of the season, played 22 minutes and scored 11 points, while grabbing seven rebounds.

“Maybe the greatest performance I’ve ever seen under such tragic situations,” Colorado State head coach Larry Eustachy said following the game, according to Kelly Lyell of The Coloradan.

With a heavy heart, Omogbo played in Colorado State's game the following night before flying back to Maryland to grieve with family. The 6-foot-8 forward returned to the team on Tuesday.

On the year, he is averaging 10.9 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.
