Frank Hassell scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds as Old Dominion defeated Xavier 67-58 on Monday night, winning the Paradise Jam championship.

The Monarchs (4-1) trailed 17-10 with 7:37 left in the first half before going on a 15-2 run, in which they shot 6 for 8 and took the lead for good. Chris Cooper's free throws put Old Dominion ahead, 25-19, with 3:37 to go until halftime.

Trian Iladis added 12 points off the bench for the Monarchs, who have won four straight after a 62-59 opening loss to No. 16-ranked Georgetown.

Tu Holloway and Mark Lyons scored 14 points each and Kenny Frease added 10 for the Musketeers (4-1).

Xavier made just 5 of 20 from 3-point range (25 percent) and didn't get much better closer in, shooting 59.1 percent from the free-throw line (13 of 22).

The Musketeers, whose four-game winning streak ended, had just nine assists and 14 turnovers.
