D.J. Cooper scored 18 points and Nick Kellogg added 18 points off the bench to help Ohio pull away in the second half and beat Portland 81-52 Saturday in the season opener for both teams.
Ohio and Portland played to a 33-33 tie at halftime, but Ohio outscored the Pilots 48-19 in the second half.
The Pilots shot just 25.9 percent (7 for 27) in the second half, while Ohio shot 61.5 percent (16 for 26).
Ivo Baltic and Reggie Keely also scored in double digits for Ohio, with 10 points and 13 points, respectively.
Jon Smith added eight rebounds and four blocks for the Bobcats, while Cooper also had six assists and five rebounds.
Ohio took its first lead 33 seconds into the second half and used a 21-6 run in the first 7:07 of the period to run away with the game.
