Gary Roberson scored five of his seven points in overtime and William Mosley had 14 points, 16 rebounds and seven blocked shots as Northwestern State rallied to defeat Jacksonville State 66-61 Friday night.
Roberson opened the extra period with a three-point play that put the Demons (3-3) ahead to stay.
Northwestern State trailed by nine in the first half, overtook the Gamecocks (2-3) for a 30-27 halftime lead, then fell behind by nine again, at 46-37 with 9:59 to play in regulation.
Louis Ellis, who scored a season-high 17 points for the Demons, tied the game at 55 on a driving layup with 5 seconds left in regulation to force overtime.
Northwestern State hit 7 of 9 free throws in the extra period after sinking only 15 of 29 in regulation.
Stephen Hall scored 16 to lead Jacksonville State, which missed four 3-point tries in the final minute of overtime.
