SAN ANTONIO (AP) North Carolina says forward Brice Johnson will not return against Iowa State after spraining his right ankle in the first half.

The school announced the decision on its Twitter feed.

The 6-foot-9 sophomore is the Tar Heels' leader in field goal percentage and blocks this season, and their No. 2 rebounder. He had 16 points, eight rebounds and four blocks in the North Carolina's win over Providence on Friday.

Johnson left the game after tumbling to the floor under the North Carolina basket with 14:41 left in the first half and the Tar Heels leading 12-7. He limped to the bench and tested his weight on the right leg before slowly walking to the locker room for X-rays.

The tests did not reveal any broken bones, the school said.
