Norfolk run nets win over Saint Peter's, 60-58

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) Jeffrey Short tossed in 20 points and RaShid Gaston and D'Shon Taylor each added 14 as Norfolk State held off Saint Peter's 60-58 in the Saint Peter's Division of the Barclays Center Classic Saturday night.
Saint Peter's took a 27-20 lead at halftime behind 6 of 11 shooting from three-point range. Marvin Dominique led the first-half charge with 10 points with a pair of 3-pointers.
The Spartans (4-3) trailed by 14 four minutes into the second half after Travis Hester drilled a 3 for Saint Peter's.
Short and Taylor hit back-to-back 3s to jump start Norfolk's second-half offense, with Taylor scoring nine straight points for the Spartans.
Short's layup with 3:04 left gave Norfolk the lead for the first time in the half during a 17-0 run to take over the game.
Dominique finished with 17 points to lead Saint Peter's. Tyler Gaskins and Hester each added 12 points.
