Jared Sullinger scored 22 points with 10 rebounds in 28 minutes in an impressive freshman debut, helping No. 4 Ohio State defeat NAIA runner-up Walsh 102-56 in an exhibition game Sunday.

Sullinger, a two-time Ohio Mr. Basketball from Columbus Northland, started along with four returnees from a team that was 29-8 last season and won the Big Ten tournament.

The freshman forward missed his first shot 13 seconds into the game but made his second off a short jumper at the 17:53 mark en route to seven first-half points. Sullinger finished 8 of 14 from the floor and made 6 of 9 free throws.

David Lighty had 19 points and William Buford 16 for the Buckeyes, while Terrence Saintil had 16 points for the Cavaliers.
