No. 11 Marquette has suspended leading scorer Darius Johnson-Odom for its game against Northern Colorado on Saturday for an unspecified violation of team rules.
The team announced the suspension before the game.
Johnson-Odom, a senior guard averaging 18.8 points, 3.3 assists and 3.2 points per game, is expected to return for the team's next game at LSU on Monday. He was in uniform Saturday.
Freshman Todd Mayo started in Johnson-Odom's place for the No. 11 Golden Eagles.

Johnson-Odom, who had started all nine games for undefeated Marquette this season, is the second starter to be suspended recently for a violation of team rules. Starting point guard Junior Cadougan didn't play in Marquette's 61-54 victory over Wisconsin on Dec. 3.
