New Hampshire 53, Dartmouth 50

Alvin Abreu scored 21 points as New Hampshire overcame poor second-half shooting to hold off Dartmouth 53-50 on Wednesday night.
The Wildcats (2-2), who snapped a two-game skid, hit only 19.2 percent from the field in the second half (5 of 26).
New Hampshire led 45-35 with 14:18 to go and still held a 49-42 advantage with 8:37 left. The Big Green (2-5) then used an 8-0 run, capped by two Gabas Maldunas layups, to pull ahead with 3:31 to play.
New Hampshire tied it at 50 on Brian Benson's free throw with 2:45 left, then neither team scored until a Chandler Rhoads steal set up Jordon Bronner's layup with 1:18 to go.
After Abreu hit the second of two foul shots with 4 seconds on the clock, Dartmouth's Mack McKearney missed the potentially tying 3-pointer with a second left.
Maldunas led the Big Green with 13 points.
