NC State: G Tyler Lewis to transfer

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) North Carolina State says guard Tyler Lewis is transferring.
Coach Mark Gottfried announced Lewis' decision Saturday night.
The 5-foot-11 guard had a team-best 135 assists as a sophomore while making 18 starts - including the final 14 games.
That included an upset of Syracuse in the ACC tournament quarterfinals and two games in the NCAA tournament.
Lewis arrived at N.C. State in 2012-13 as part of a recruiting class that included T.J. Warren and Rodney Purvis.
Purvis transferred to Connecticut after last season and Warren now must decide if he will return to school or jump to the NBA after he was voted the ACC player of the year and averaged a league-best 24.9 points.
Lewis says he ''will always be grateful for the opportunity I had at N.C. State.''
