NC Central overwhelms Johnson & Wales (NC) 115-41

Landon Clement scored 21 points to lead eight North Carolina Central players in double figures as the Eagles overpowered Johnson & Wales (N.C.), 115-41 on Sunday.

Dominique Sutton contributed 18 points, Tramar Beaman 14 and Justin Leemow 12 for the Eagles (1-1), who shot 65.2 percent (43 of 66) and were above 60 percent in each half.

Ray Willis, Nick Chasten and Ebuka Anyaorah added 11 points each and Karamo Jawara 10 for North Carolina Central, which had 51 rebounds and nearly as many on the offensive glass (15) as the Wildcats (0-5), a Division III team, had overall (19).

The Eagles scored the game's first 12 points and led 66-23 by halftime. Clement had 15 points and Sutton 14 by then.

Michael Daniel scored 10 points for Johnson & Wales, the only player in double figures for the Wildcats, who shot 28.6 percent (16 of 56) from the field.
