NC Central beats Md.-Eastern Shore 68-63

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) Jordan Parks had 20 points and 10 rebounds and North Carolina Central beat Maryland-Eastern Shore 68-63 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference season tip off on Friday night.

Dante Holmes gave NC Central (4-3, 1-0) a five-point lead on a layup with 50 seconds left and Nimrod Hilliard's free throws 9 seconds later extended to 64-57.

Holmes chipped in with 14 of his 19 points in the second half and Parks had his first double-double of the season.

Devon Walker put Eastern Shore (3-6, 0-1) up 49-48 on a 3-pointer with 7:38 left, but the Eagles answered with six straight points, taking the lead for good.

Mike Myers led the Hawks with 18 points and seven rebounds. Devin Martin added 13 points and Ryan Andino 11.

NC Central led most of the way and built a 30-27 lead at halftime but never led by more than eight.
