NC Central 66, NC A&T 62

Stanton Kidd scored a career-high 24 points Saturday to lead North Carolina Central over North Carolina A&T 66-62 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference opener for both teams.
Only four players scored for the Eagles (5-4), but that was enough to offset a superb performance by Adrian Powell. The North Carolina A&T forward scored a game-high 29 points. He made 10 of 18 shots from the floor, including 6 of 10 from 3-point range. Powell was the only player in double figures for the Aggies (3-6).
Tied 25-all at halftime, both teams found the range in the second half. Ray Willis scored 17 points and Jeremy Ingram 16. Kidd was the key, making 5 for 11 field goal attempts.
Kidd hit all 13 of his free throws. The Eagles were 21 for 25 at the stripe. A&T was 13 for 18.
