Michael Tveidt's last-second layup lifted North Dakota State to an 89-88 double-overtime victory over UMKC on Saturday night.

Eric Carlson, who had 32 points and 12 rebounds, inbounded the ball from the sideline to Tveidt at the rim for the winner. Tveidt scored 23 for the Bison (11-10, 5-6 Summit).

Jay Couisnard's led the Kangaroos (13-9, 6-5) with 28 points and 13 rebounds. Trinity Hall and Bakari Lewis scored 14 apiece.

Spencer Johnson, who grabbed 10 rebounds, put UMKC ahead 85-84 with 16 seconds left in the second overtime. Tveidt's foul shot tied it. Then Carlson put the Bison ahead 87-85. Lewis converted three free throws for an 88-87 UMKC lead with 3 seconds left before Tveidt's heroics.

The Bison trailed 79-77 with 1:01 left in the first OT before Drew Lundberg's two free throws forced another overtime.

Hall's foul shots with 48 seconds left necessitated the first overtime.
