Eric Carlson scored 21 points and North Dakota State defeated Denver 65-54 Sunday in the final round of the BTI Invitational.
Michael Tveidt also had 11 points for the Bison (2-1) and Drew Lundberg and Nate Zastrow had 10 points each.
North Dakota State trailed 30-28 at the half, but back-to-back three-point plays by Carlson and Tveidt, followed by a 3-pointer from Tveidt, gave the Bison nine straight points to start the half.
Brian Stafford sank a 3-pointer at the 10:35 mark to cut Denver?s deficit to 43-39, but that was as close as it would get to the lead as the Bison followed with a 13-4 run to go up 56-43 with under five minutes to play.

Stafford led the Pioneers (0-3) with 15 points and Chase Hallam added 14 points.
