Tracy Smith scored 21 points on 10-of-12 shooting to lead North Carolina State to a 75-57 victory over Georgia Southern on Saturday.

Dennis Horner had 16 points, nine rebounds and six assists for the Wolfpack (7-1), who shot 64.7 percent and had five players in double figures.

N.C. State broke away from the Eagles (3-7) by scoring nine points on its first four possessions of the second half.

The Wolfpack went on to hit their first eight shots of the half, improving to 3-0 all-time against Georgia Southern.

Georgia Southern shot just 32.3 percent in the first half and 40 percent overall, but the Eagles were still in the game in the second half despite N.C. State?s scoring spree.

Antonio Hanson hit the Eagles? first 3-pointer with 11:59 left, and then Johntavious Rucker turned a backcourt steal into a layup, cutting the Wolfpack lead to 52-43 during a 21-10 run.
