N. Arizona 73, Sacramento St. 64

James Douglas tied a career high with 22 points and Northern Arizona won its 14th straight game over Sacramento State 73-64 in the Big Sky Conference opener for both teams Thursday night.
Gabe Rogers scored a season-high 17 points and Durrell Norman added 15 points and eight rebounds for the Lumberjacks (5-8), who have won three of four since 70-year-old interim coach Dave Brown assumed the reins three weeks ago.
Konner Veteto led Sacramento State (5-7) with a career-high 17 points and eight rebounds. John Dickson and Jackson Carbajal added 13 points apiece for the Hornets, who have only won twice in 20 trips to Flagstaff.
Northern Arizona led 40-27 at halftime before Sacramento State opened the second half with a 15-2 run that tied the game at 42 with 14:09 remaining. The Lumberjacks regained the lead for good with a 12-1 run that put them ahead 64-51 with 3:09 left.
