Stacy Wilson scored 21 points as Murray State defeated Brescia 88-43 Friday night to win its 23rd consecutive home opener.

Ed Daniel added 15 points and nine rebounds for the reigning Ohio Valley Conference champions.

The Racers got on the board early with a dunk by Brandon Garrett 14 seconds into the game.

A missed layup from Ed Daniel resulted in a rebound dunk from Garrett and the Racers secured a 14-2 lead with 14:47 left in the first half.

Murray State led 40-24 at the break despite only two points from Isaiah Canaan, the Racers' leading scorer last season.

Canaan and Jeffery Moss contributed 11 points and five rebounds each for Murray State, which is 61-3 since 1948 in home openers.

Myron Christian led Brescia, an NAIA program, with 12 points and seven rebounds.

The Bearcats shot only 29.2 percent (7 of 24) in the second half.
