Murray St. 76, Harris Stowe 49

Donte Poole scored a game-high 18 points as Murray State asserted its dominance in the second half for a season-opening 76-49 victory Friday night over Harris-Stowe.
The Racers led just 33-26 at the half against the outmanned Hornets, an NAIA team. But in the second half, Murray State outscored Harris-Stowe 43-23. The Racers clamped down defensively and held the Hornets to 27 percent shooting, including just 2 of 15 3-point attempts.
Poole was one of four Racers who scored in double figures. Ivan Aska scored 16 points on 8-of-11 shooting. Stacy Wilson came off the Murray State bench to score 11 points. Guard Isaiah Cannan contributed 8 assists to go along with his 10 points.
Murray State had a huge advantage on the boards, out-rebounding Harris-Stowe 43-27. Aska led the Racers with nine rebounds.
