Morgan State rolls by Coppin State 79-64

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) Justin Black scored a career-high 30 points and third-seeded Morgan State rolled by No. 7 seed Coppin State 79-64 Friday to reach the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference title game.

Morgan State (15-15) will face top-seeded North Carolina Central (27-5) in the championship on Saturday. The Bears will be in the MEAC title game for the sixth time in the past eight years.

Morgan State took an early 17-7 lead en route to a 47-28 halftime advantage, and continued to roll in the second half.

Black made 10 of 16 from the field, including 4 of 9 from long range. Morgan State shot 47.1 percent from the floor.

Ian Chiles added 18 points, 11 rebounds and six blocks for the Bears. Anthony Hubbard had 12 points, nine rebounds and nine assists.

Andre Armstrong led Coppin State (12-20) with 13 points and Sterling Smith added 12.
