Xavier Blount scored 24 points and Christian Moon scored 21 Friday night and Montana State beat Portland State 86-73.
Moon made 6 of 8 3-pointers for the Bobcats (6-7, 1-1 Big Sky). Shawn Reid had 14 points and Mohammed Fall scored 12 for Montana State, which took a 21-8 lead in the first 5 minutes and never trailed.
Charles Odum led Portland State (6-8, 0-2) with 20 points. Chehales Tapscott had 15 points and 11 rebounds and Lateef McMullan added 12 points for Portland State.
The Vikings got within 50-44 on Odum's basket with 13:44 left, but the Bobcats used a 14-2 run to put the game out of reach.
