Missouri forward Safford suffers torn ACL

Missouri junior forward Justin Safford suffered a torn ACL in a victory over Colorado and the injury will be assessed again next week.

The team said Thursday that Safford injured the knee when he landed on it awkwardly after converting a layup in the first half of the Tigers' 92-63 win over the Buffaloes on Wednesday.

The Bloomington, Ill., native was helped to the locker room by the training staff but returned to the bench after halftime under his own power.
