Glen Miller has been promoted from director of basketball administration to assistant coach of the national champion Connecticut men's basketball team.

The 49-year-old was hired by coach Jim Calhoun last year to oversee off the court operations of the basketball program, including academic and compliance issues in the wake of an NCAA recruiting scandal.

On Wednesday, he moved into the spot vacated by Andre LaFleur, who left UConn last month to become associate head coach at Providence.

It's Miller's second stint as an assistant at UConn, where he started his coaching career in 1986, serving six seasons on Calhoun's staff.

Miller also spent 17 seasons as a collegiate head coach, including 11 in the Ivy League, where he coached Brown from 1999-2006 and Pennsylvania from 2006-2009.
