DeShawn Sims scored 27 points, two shy of his career high, and Manny Harris added 18 points and seven rebounds Thursday in Michigan's 73-45 rout of Iowa in the first round of the Big Ten tournament.

Sims scored 16 points in the first 10 minutes as Michigan jumped out to a 22-9 lead, and the Hawkeyes couldn't get within single digits the last 25 minutes of the game. It's the second year in a row the Wolverines have beaten Iowa in the opening game of the tournament. Michigan (20-12) will play second-seeded Illinois in Friday's quarterfinals.

Cyrus Tate led Iowa with 12 points and Jake Kelly added 10. Iowa (15-17) finishes with a losing record for a second year in a row after seven straight winning seasons.
