Neal Pitt recorded a double-double and hit a pair of free throws in the game's final second to propel Maryland-Eastern Shore to an 83-81 win over Norfolk State on Monday night. Pitt, who scored 21 points and grabbed 16 boards, made up for missing two free throws in the game's final minute by sinking his final two with 1 second left after Michael Deloach's layup tied the game at 81-all. Deloach had a chance to win it for Norfolk State with a 3-pointer at the buzzer, but it didn't fall. Jamie Boyer led the Hawks (7-18, 3-9 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) with 23 points, including a 6-for-9 night from beyond the arc. Chris Conner chipped in with 17 points. Deloach led the Spartans (8-15, 6-6) with 25 points. The Hawks got 24 points from their bench compared to 12 for the Spartans.
