McNeese St. 92, Lamar 74

P.J. Alawoya scored 20 points, and C.J. Collins and Patrick Richard each added 19 to lead McNeese State over Lamar 92-74 on Saturday in both teams' regular-season finale.
The Cowboys (19-10, 11-5 Southland Conference) clinched at least a share of their first regular-season conference title since 2002 and their sixth overall.
McNeese State led 76-67 with 5:35 left before going on a 12-2 run, pushing its lead to 88-69 with 2:05 to go. Alawoya pulled down 16 rebounds for the Cowboys, who made 15 of 17 free throws in the second half.
Devon Lamb scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Cardinals (13-17, 7-9), who missed qualifying for the conference tournament for the third straight year after winning the regular-season title in 2008.
Coy Custer and Anthony Miles each added 11 points for Lamar, which shot 19.2 percent from 3-point range (5 of 26).
