Patrick Richard led four McNeese State players in double figures with 17 points and the Cowboys defeated Southeastern Louisiana 61-47 on Wednesday night.

McNeese State (7-9, 3-1 Southland Conference) held the Lions to just 25 percent shooting (6 of 24) in the first half, including just 2 of 12 from the 3-point line, and held a 38-20 advantage at halftime. The Cowboys shot 53.6 percent in the first half (15 of 28) with 20 points coming in the paint.

After Southeastern Louisiana took its only lead of the game, 4-2, the Cowboys went on a 29-6 run. Jeremie Mitchell scored eight and Dontae Cannon had seven during the spurt.

Mitchell finished with 14, Cannon 12 and Rudy Turner 11.

Southeastern Louisiana (7-19, 1-3) was led by Jeremy Campbell with 11 points and Daron Populist with 10.

The Lions have lost all 10 of their road games.
